ALAN M. DOUGLAS, President and Chairman of the Board, founded the company in 1985. Served on the Board of Directors, founding Chairman of the Small Publishers Committee, Chaired Publishing Services Committees and Chaired Ethics and Admissions Committee for American Business Media. Co-founder and Chairman of the board of the Integrated Media Consortium, a national purchasing cooperative composed of independent media companies. Former columnist for Folio: magazine and speaker at numerous media association conferences. In 2005 named one of Folio: Magazines “Folio Forty” top business media executives and cited as one of the “Top 100 Executives” by B2B Magazine.” Member of the District of Columbia and Florida Bars. Douglas has a Bachelor of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from the George Washington University and a Masters of Law from the University of Miami. He taught business courses at the University of North Carolina- Greensboro, N.C.A. & T. State University and University of Miami.
FRANK FINN, Executive Vice-President, has more than 30 years of publishing experience spanning advertising sales, marketing, circulation, editorial and production. He served as chair of the Brand Extension Committee of American Business Media. As President of Tuff Stuff Publications, a division of Landmark Communications, he grew revenues 20% and profits 100% and established an Internet site that generated more than 1 million page views per month. He also served as Group Publisher for Cowles Magazines, Editorial Director for CommTek, Inc. and Vice President of Whittle Communications. He is an honors graduate of The College of William & Mary, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English.
CURTIS WHARTON, Business Development Director, brings years of proven sales skills and supervisory experience. He was previously Vice President of Business Development and Sales at The Emergent Group. Before his stint with The Emergent Group, he was the Director of Sales for eMarketWorld.com, Inc., and Director of Sales/Marketing for HealthSouth's Managed Care Division in Virginia. He is a graduate of Emory & Henry College with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration.
RICK MAURER, Operations Director, brings 20 years of marketing, production and circulation experience to DPLLC. He served as Production Director for KPMG Global Marketing. In this position he was responsible for design, production and fulfillment of marketing programs for magazines, newsletters and advertising. As Business Manager for Worldbusiness magazine he was responsible for general operations as well as advertising and circulation programs. He is a graduate of Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing/Management.
